Governor rule only solution to save J&K from disaster: NPP

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 12: Strongly urging for invocation of Section 92 of the State Constitution in J&K, NPP leader Harsh Dev Singh today said the imposition of Governor rule alone could save the State from the catastrophe, death and destruction hovering over its head for the last few years.
In a press statement here, Singh said the last two years of unholy BJP-PDP rule had witnessed unprecedented bloodshed with Monday’s carnage having shocked the collective conscience of the nation. He said that it was shocking to note the statements of Central BJP leaders who were content with mere condemnations of the killings each time without any serious effort to save the state from bloodshed and disaster.
Alleging total collapse of politico-constitutional apparatus in the State, Singh said that the unethical alliance of BJP and PDP had pushed the State into a vortex of violence with Pakistan agents and other anti-national forces having virtually taken control of the State. He said that the situation was reminiscent of early 1990s and even worse with militants and subversives having made inroads into the political and administrative circles. He regretted that the anarchy had led to civil unrest, clashes, shut downs, public attacks on police stations, lynching and killing of police personnel, attacks on pilgrims, assault on security forces, death and destruction, sympathy with the families of militants and stone pelters in Kashmir, etc.
Deploring further, the State Human Rights Commission directing the J&K Govt to pay compensation of Rs 10 lakhs to the ring leader of stone pelters- Farooq Dar, he said that such kind of incentives would further embolden the miscreants and anti- nationals to go berserk in causing death and destruction all across the valley. He regretted that earlier the NoKs of slain militants were offered bonanza in the shape of compensation worth Rs 5 lakh and Government jobs but on the contrary, the BJP partnered dispensation showed empty coffers to the NoKs of martyrs who had attained supreme sacrifice while confronting militants and in other border skirmishes.
