Governor reviews progress on Multi-Specialty Hospital

KATRA, Nov 23: N. N. Vohra, Governor, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) at Kakryal and reviewed the to-date status of various works for this upcoming Multi-Specialty Hospital.
The Governor accompanied by R. K. Gupta, his Principal Secretary and Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Dr. M.K. Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Subhash Gupta, Superintending Engineer, Dr. Vinod Gupta, Director Medical, and other officers and engineers of the Shrine Board inspected the hospital and the under-construction residential complex adjacent to it.
This includes accommodation facilities for doctors, para-medical staff, nurses, an inn for attendants of patients and a guest house for visiting doctors. The CEO informed that all these buildings would be fully completed by June next year, well before the commissioning of the hospital.
The Governor took a round of the various buildings and asked the CEO and the accompanying engineers to undertake timely landscaping of the area along with the plantation of flowering bushes and other ornamental plants, construction of internal roads and other required facilities. He directed CEO to ensure that the future use of the entire area harmonises with its surroundings.
In a meeting held in the hospital, to review the positioning of the various components of the hospital, the Governor was briefed by Dr. M. K. Bhandari, CEO of the Shrine Board, about the various diagnostic facilities and departments being set up on each floor of the hospital. The CEO, in his presentation, informed the Governor about the micro level planning put in place for medical equipment procurement, undertaking fire safety measures, hospital waste management, water and power supply, installation of CCTV cameras, provision of STP, etc. The Governor observed that all these facilities need to be put in place within envisaged timelines. He also discussed the modalities for a Nursing College being very early set up in the SMVDIME complex.
It is pertinent to mention that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has executed a Concession Agreement with Narayana Hrudayalaya Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, for the operation of this Multi-Specialty Hospital, which is planned to be commissioned in October, 2015.
Among those who were also present on the occasion included B. Mohan Daas, Pankaj Sharma and Devinder Singh Bhau, Dy. CEOs, Rajinder Singh, Officer on Special Duty (Revenue), Rajan Gupta, Executive Engineer of the Shrine Board, and Gourav Misra, Project Manager, Narayana Hrudayalaya.
