Governor reviews arrangements for Amarnathji Yatra

JAMMU: The arrangements being made for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on 2nd July 2015 and conclude on 29th August 2015 were reviewed today by N.N. Vohra, Governor, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.  Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, SASB; Jitendra Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer; and the outgoing Addl. CEO, Preet Pal Singh, attended the meeting at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor was briefed about the to-date position regarding heli services for the Yatris, allotment of Langars, tents, shops and other conveniences within and outside the Yatra area.
The Governor directed CEO, SASB,  to very early settle all matters relating to the locationing of Langars in and outside the Yatra area, keeping in view the advice of the National Disaster Management Authority. In this context, the CEO was directed to hold urgent discussions with the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, and Deputy Commissioner of Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban and thereafter with Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir along with Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Ganderbal. The matter should be finalised in consultation with the apex organizations of the various service providers.
The CEO  was also asked to ensure that Deputy Commissioners of Ganderbal and Anantnag Districts issue tent and shop permissions strictly as per the layout plan of each Yatra Camp and ensure that no unauthorised tent/ shop is allowed to be pitched in the Camps.
The CEO was also instructed to meet DGP for adequate and strict steps being taken well in advance, to ensure that law and order is strictly maintained in the entire Yatra area, during the entire Yatra period.
