JAMMU, Feb 28: Governor N.N. Vohra and First Lady Usha Vohra attended the concluding programme of the “Tribal Festival-2018”, organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, here this evening.
Governor complimented Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director NZCC for presenting very attractive tribal dance presentations. He suggested that such programmes need to be organized on a much larger scale to enable several thousand people to see them at a time. He also suggested making documentaries of such cultural programmes which could be viewed by  school and college students.
Highlighting the importance of such programmes, Governor observed that they are extremely valuable for promoting understandings among people belonging to different areas and from diverse cultural backgrounds. He observed that such exchanges enable the youth to visit other States and get acquainted with people of different backgrounds.
Artists from different parts of the country who participated in this Festival regaled the audience with beautiful tribal dance forms of their respective States. Governor, First Lady and the audience, comprising prominent citizens and artists, highly appreciated the dancers.
The Welcome Address was presented by Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director NZCC and Vote of Thanks was given by Dr.Amrinder Aman, Addl. Secretary JKAAL.
