Gear up men, machinery for developmental activities: Veeri to Engineers

SRINAGAR, Sept 22:  Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today directed concerned officers to gear up their men and machinery for undertaking various constructions and developmental works in the Valley.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary R&B, Rohit Kansal, Chief Engineer R&B (Kashmir), Chief Engineer PMGSY, Managing Director JKPCC and Superintending Engineers of Kashmir Division.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister asked the officers to hold meetings of ground staff in their respective areas for undertaking various construction projects smoothly for the public good. He also directed them to make periodical reviews of developmental works as a feature of their administrative functioning.
During the meeting, the Minister was informed that works under different projects have started picking up pace across Kashmir and a detailed summary was presented about works being executed under different projects in the Valley.
Threadbare discussions were also held regarding the four lanning of road leading to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) site in Awantipora.
Regarding pending work on various bridges in the State sector, the Minister asked the engineers to cover the bridges with less than 30 percent work under CRF on priority basis. He directed them to formulate estimates of pending works on bridges where construction work has stopped.
He also directed officers to finalize projects for current financial year up to Rs 2.50 crore under NABARD in every Assembly Segment.
