Gagan Bhagat inaugurates eye camp at Chohalla

JAMMU, Aug 28: A free eye camp organized by Gurudwara Prabandak Committee Chohalla, Jeevan Jyoti (an NGO) and Dr KD Singh Eye Hospital, Pathankot with the co-operation of Village Development Committee of Village Chohalla (RS Pura) was inaugurated today by MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat.
The camp was organized under the presidium of Shamsher Singh Chohalvi. About 350 patients were examined by a team of doctors and paramedical staff headed by Dr Bhawana and her team during the camp. Among them many patients were identified for operation which is to be carried in Jammu and check up will be done with the provision of diet, medicine and medical care.
Addressing the gathering while inaugurating the camp, Dr Bhagat said, “How busy you may be but always make it a point to do one good act a day. It not only helps you to attain utmost satisfaction but also promote different social activities around you and results into development of the country as a whole.
While referring to the National Program for Control of Blindness, which was launched in the year 1976, the MLA RS Pura said the main focus of the program is to develop eye care infrastructure throughout the country, increase institutional capacity for eye care, expand coverage to underserved areas, decentralization to district level, Human Resource Development for eye care at all levels, improvement in quality of eye care for better visual outcome and secure participation of non-Government organizations and private sector.
Prominent among others present were BMO RS Pura, SHO RS Pura and BDO RS Pura besides Ex-Panchs and Ex-Sarpanchs.
