JAMMU, Mar 30: Organized by Viklang Chhatra Trust, 129th free eye operation cum treatment camp was inaugurated by Dr Uttam Singh Sambyal, BMO, SDH Akhnoor.
The camp was organized by the Trust in the loving memory of its founder member and patron, Dharam Pal Saraf, to make Akhnoor cataract free zone.
Till now, more than 250 eye patients have been checked by the Eye surgeon posted at CHC Akhnoor. Out of these 250 patients, 40 patients have been selected for surgery.
The Trust has provided 37 intra ocular lens (APPA IOL) for the cataract patients’ surgery. Free spectacles post operation, eye drops, allied medicines and tonics will be provided to all the operated patients on the closing of the camp.
So far, the Trust has successfully restored the vision of above 8000 people during 128 free eye camps organized by it in the remote areas of Jammu region.
