Forum demands job quota for displaced persons from PoJK

JAMMU, Mar 6:  All PoJK 1947 Sharnarthi  Intellectual Forum has alleged that displaced persons from PoJK have been deprived of the benefits of  3% reservation provided to the Pahari speaking people.
An emergency  meeting of the Forum was convened at Jammu under the chairmanship of its president  advocate Amrik Singh. It was unanimously appreciated the positive step taken by the State Govt while giving its approval to the J&K Reservation Amendments Bill 18th of 2014 which guaranteed 3% reservation to the Pahari speaking people, similar as already given to the OBC/SC/BC people.
While addressing to the people  Amrik Singh said that a great injustice is being meted out to the people of PoJK 1947, because they are the originated Pahari speaking. The approval is not complete until & unless its extension  is not awarded to the people of 1947 belonging to the Pak occupied Kashmir, otherwise,   it will be  great discrimination with the people of PoJK 1947. He said till date the ancestral  immovable property of DPs is lying in PoJK  including Poonch, Muzaffrabad, Mirpur etc.
“In this regard we strongly lodge our protest and demand to the State Govt to include people of 1947 PoJK in the Pahari speaking reservation schedule otherwise failing which we will not hesitate and launch an agitation against State Govt on provincial level,” he added.
“We also appeal to the Governor of J&K not to give assent on this bill until & unless its extension is not awarded to the people of PoJK 1947 who have been forcibly migrated due to external aggression in 1947,” he said.
The prominent among those who attended and spoke in the meeting included-  Surjit Singh  general secretary, Prof KD Singh, Nasib Singh, Ex-AGM of J&K Bank, Paramjit Singh President AISSF,  Mohinder Singh from BJNSS,   Pt Pritam Dass,  Dwarka Dass,  Pitamber Dev Sharma,  Raj Kumar,  Nirotam Dass, Suresh Kumar, Prof Harbans Singh, Khazan Singh,  Avtar Singh Ex- Pilot and  Subedar  Mohinder Singh.
