JAMMU, Dec 30: Foreign Exchange Department, Jammu (Jammu RO), organized Customer Service Meeting at RBI, here.
The meeting was inaugurated and chaired by Thomas Mathew, Regional Director, Jammu RO and was attended by Assistant Commissioner Customs (IRS), Deputy Director DGFT, DGM SBI, DGM JK Bank, senior officials of all the Authorized Dealers (ADs) operating in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, FFMCs, representative of other agencies and a sizeable number of forex customers.
Mathew welcomed the participants and informed the house that export transactions are processed and reported through EDPMS system which integrates customs, SEZs, STPI and all AD banks.
He advised custom officials for conversion of manual port at Srinagar to EDI port which will ensure seamless processing and reporting. He also advised officials of AD banks to bestow their personal attention on closing the outstanding export bills where payment has been realized.
DK Kashyap, Incharge of FED Jammu emphasized the need of monitoring of export outstanding and role of banks in marking off realized export outstanding in the relevant software packages so that customers do not face inconvenience of getting caution listed.
He informed the house that all AD banks have been advised by RBI to close pending entries in EDPMS by the year end. He also advised the banks to put in place a suitable system for closure of pending entries in EDPMS before December 31, 2017 thereby ensuring no pendency beyond this date.
Prashant Bahl, Manager, FED, Jammu made a presentation on E-biz and EDPMS software packages for customers.
Customers shared their experiences and also raised queries which were answered by the RBI/ADs.
