FMPHWs for release of pending salary, threatens to halt work

JAMMU, July 9: Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) today threatened the Government to shun all work regarding various central schemes including MMR Survey if their pending salary was not released soon.
Conveying this to the Government through Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Jammu in a meeting, a deputation of Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ Association under the chairmanship of Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWA, urged the Government to clear their pending salaries of last four months including July 2018.
The leader also discussed in threadbare the genuine demands of the FMPHWs in the presence of the Deputy CMO who assured to resolve their all pending issues. The main demands highlighted include delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), fixation of job functions of FMPHWS at par other working categories of Health sector, up gradation for the post of FMPHW on the analogy of pharmacist and creation of the post of LHVs in new PHCs.
Other demands that came up for discussion were publishing of seniority list of FMPHWs on the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, allotment of 50 percent quota in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992, which is pending in the Administrative Department for the last 27 years.
Prominent amongst others who attend the meeting were Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta, Promila Devi, Sharda Devi, Pushpa Devi, Swaran Kour, Rani Devi, Urmil Devi, Mamta Devi and Gayatri Devi.
