First ever stitchless knee joint replacement surgery done in Fortis Escorts Hospital

JAMMU, July 12: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar achieved another milestone by doing stitchless knee joint replacement surgery for the first time in the country.
Dr Mohit Arora (Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon) and his team performed this knee joint replacement surgery with altogether new and distinguished technology on Harbhajan Kaur, a patient from Jammu.
Giving information about the surgery, Dr Mohit informed that in this new technology a very small cut of approximately 10 cm is given and knee joint is replaced through this small cut only. This leads to faster recovery and early discharge of patient from the Hospital, he said, adding, no pain of stitch removal is experienced in this method and the patient can take shower just two days after surgery. “Post operatively only a cosmetically elegant scar remains”, he further added.
