JAMMU, Feb 25: The statement of National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah that present turmoil in Valley is the fight of new generation of militants for freedom of Kashmir valley has been widely condemned.
VHP senior leader Dr Rama Kant Dubey while strongly criticizing the statement of Dr Abdullah said the seeds of secessionism in Kashmir were sown by NC as its leadership wanted to become the Sultan of Kashmir and so they misled and instigated people of Valley for their vested interests.
He said the seeds of unrest which were sown by the NC in 1947 continued till date. Accusing NC of black mailing Nehru and Gandhi families, he said the Party continues to stick to this policy today. Terming situation worst in Kashmir at present, Dr Dubey said even in Afghanistan such huge killings of security forces don’t take place as have been reported in Kashmir.
Lambasting Dr Abdullah, he said Army is shedding blood but NC leader has no sympathy for them. He even does not acknowledge their contribution for the welfare of the people of the State.
Dr Dubey said Dr Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah are pursuing the agenda of their father and they too want to become sultans of Kashmir. He said maximum ammunition and arms were dumped in Kashmir during NC rule and the minority Pandits were also forced to flee when NC was in power in the State. The ground for separatists and secessionists was created by NC and his present statement is a testimony to the fact, he added.
The VHP leader demanded no leniency be shown to stone pelters and they should be dealt under the treason act.
BJP State spokesperson, Prof. Virender Gupta while strongly condemning the statement of Dr Abdullah, said that such type of provocative and instigating statement is not expected from a person who remained Chief Minister of the State and Union Minister. He added that his statement proves beyond doubt that Dr Abdullah is responsible for the present state of affairs in the Valley that started during the period when he was Chief Minister of the State, before 1990.
The Spokesperson said that NC president is speaking out of frustration as his party, including his son, Omar Abdullah were dethroned by the people of the State because of their mal-practices, corrupt administration and anti-people policies. He said that this outburst of Farooq is aimed to recapture the lost political ground as a preparation for contesting forthcoming election of Member of Parliament.
Prof. Gupta asked Farooq Abhdullah to lead the militants among younger generation as per his statement issued a month back where he expressed that he was joining Hurriyat Conference in their present struggle, instead of contesting election for Lok Sabha. There he has to take oath of Indian Constitution and integrity of India to which he is questioning in his present statement. He refreshed the memory of NC leader that Government of India had not given any promise to grant Azadi to the Valley. The NC members in the Constituent Assembly of India agreed to be the part of Indian Union; the Delhi Accord of 1952 and Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir State confirmed the accession of J&K State with Indian Union.
After that there was no question of any plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly when Pakistan did not implement the UNO Resolution asking it to vacate the forcible occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir and surrender the same into the jurisdiction of Indian. He added that after 1974-75 Accord between Indira Gandhi and Sheikh Abdullah which paved way for N C to take reigns of the State Government, the fight for Azadi and Farooq Abdullah’s support to it becomes absurd.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while taking a dig at NC leader’s statement held the party responsible for the unrest in Valley as well as the plight of Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life outside the Valley.
Taking serious exception to Farooq’s Azadi remarks, KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri, said this way NC leader was instigating the youth. He also criticized the NC leader for asking Union Government to hold talks with separatists and Pakistan the mastermind of world terrorism.
Terming Dr Abdullah as an opportunist and a failed politician for his immature and anti national statement, Kashmiri said he has given the statement for the politics of his convenience.
Accusing Dr Abdullah for Kashmir unrest KPC chief said NC befooled people right from 1931 and now Abdullah is again trying to befool them. He said NC is responsible for unrest in Valley and its leadership is directly or indirectly involved in stone pelting.
Former Sarpanch and social activist Nanna Ji Raina has also expressed his surprise over the statement of Dr Abdullah saying that when in power the NC leader’s want that Pakistan and terrorists be taught a lesson and when out of power they speak language of separatists. He asked NC leadership to shun duel policy as how long the Party will mislead the people.
On the controversial statement given by National Conference (NC) chief patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah and JKNPP supremo Prof Bhim Singh in favour of stone pelters and anti nationalists, Bhartya Janata Yuva Morch (BJYM) Samba district unit today protested under the leadership Amit Dubey (Samba district president) at Main Chowk Vijaypur.
The BJYM activists shouting slogans against the both leaders and also burnt their effigies for their controversial statements.
Amit Dubey warned both the leaders who had given the controversial statements to apologize and revoke the same. He demanded if both failed to do the same then action be taken against them.
Shri Ram Sena has also condemns Farooq’s remarks for supporting anti-nationalists.
Hitting out at National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah for his remarks there by string a fresh controversy, State president Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan said the statement was an insult to India.
By saying Indian security forces would not be able to defend the Jammu and Kashmir from terrorists, Rajiv Mahajan said that the former Chief Minister’s statement would discourage the army.
“Farooq Abdullah’s remark will discourage the army. Politicians should avoid making such remarks,” Rajiv told reporters, here today.
“I am deeply disappointed at Farooq Abdullah’s statement and this is a very immature remarks and full of lies,” Mahajan said.
He said Farooq Abdullah has been making series of controversial statements when he is out of power on issues pertaining to border dispute between India and Pakistan.
“Abdullah had earlier created a controversy with his remark that India should give up its conquest of trying to control the PoK as it belonged to Pakistan,” he disclosed.
“Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and by making such a statement, Farooq Abdullah has insulted India and we do not tolerate such statement,” Rajiv said.
