Eye check-up camp held

JAMMU, July 9: Hari Prabhu Sanstha in collaboration with KLSM Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital Udhampur organised a free eye check-up camp at Hari Prabhu Ashray Gujru Nagrota, Ramkot, Kathua.
The camp was organised under Rotary’s initiative for prevention of blindness in the area and to provide ‘Gift of Sight’ to the poor and needy patients suffering from cataract blindness.
About 90 patients hailing from far flung areas of Tehsils Ramkote, Billawar and Ram Nagar were examined during the camp by a team of doctors and technicians led by Dr Sameru Raina.
Out of these patients, 8 were screened for implantation of Intraocular Lenses (IOLs) and they will be operated free of cost at Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital Udhampur.
A press release of the organisation stated that they will provide free transportation to the patients.
Apart from free distribution of medicines, spectacles were also given to 43 patients who were found to have low vision.
Sanstha President, Jagmohan and General Secretary, S.C Gupta thanked the Rotary Club Udhampur and Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital Udhampur for organising such a camp and providing their noble services in rural and remote areas.
Sanstha members P.N Jalla, P.N Koul, Dev Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
