Dy CM discuss security situation with Army officers, visits injured CRPF personnel

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today discussed prevailing security situation with senior Army officers at the headquarters of 15 Crops where injured CRPF personnel, injured in yesterday’s militant attack at Pampore, are admitted in the base hospital.

Officials said that the Deputy Chief Minister held a meeting with the senior Army officers and discussed the prevailing security scenario. The meeting took place a day after militants attacked a CRPF bus in which eight personnel were killed and 22 others were injured.

They said Dr Singh and the Army officers also discussed security measures for conduct of smooth annual 48-day Amarnath yatra, commencing from July 2 from both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal tracks. Earlier, Dr Singh met the injured who are undergoing treatment at the base camp in Badami Bagh cantonment, here.

Dr Singh, ”while interacting with the injured jawans told them that the whole nation is with them. He also ”reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to deal with elements of subversion and destruction. (AGENCIES)
