Drugs smuggling racket unearthed, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Dec 3: Bhaderwah police unearthed drugs smuggling racket with the arrest of three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station laid a naka at Seri Bazaar and asked three persons to stop, who were trying to hide themselves from the cops and escape.
During checking, police recovered 200 grams cannabis, 1 gram brown sugar, 5 insulin syringes and Rs 30,000 cash from the possession of trio and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Owais Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammad Iqbal Dar of Maitra Ramban, Aqib Javed Wani, son of Javed Iqbal Wani of Passari, Bhaderwah and Touib Ganai, son of Ahsan-Ullah Ganai of Mohalla Haveli, Bhaderwah.
With their arrest, police busted drugs smuggling racket, which the arrested persons were running and were targeting youth to become drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 146/17 under Section 8/20/ 21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police station Bhaderwah and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bhaderwah Muneer Ahmed Khan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Khatana.
