RAMBAN, Jan 7: A driver died in accident near Chamalwas area falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
As per police sources, a vehicle bearing registration number PB06AK-2226 was on its way to Jammu to Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into 250 feet deep gorge near Chamalwas, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and after retrieving the body from the gorge, shifted it to SDH Banihal.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Kumar, son of Bawani, a resident of Pathankote.
After conducting autopsy, the body has been handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
