JAMMU, Jan 1: Dr Purshotam Sharma, Professor Emeritus and former Head of the Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu has been awarded by the Central Hindi Dir-ectorate, Ministry of Human Res-ource Deve-lopment, Govt of India for his book entitled ‘Riksukta Gouravam’.
He has been awarded under the Hindi Writers Language Award Scheme.
The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000.
Prof Sharma has a distinction of writing as many as 11 religious books in Hindi and Sanskrit, besides having the honour of producing around 75 candidates, who have qualified the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and the degrees of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil).
