Dr Milan’s art works to be displayed in Sri Lanka

JAMMU, May 17: Dr Milan’s paintings will be a part of the “The International Visual Arts Exhibition- 2017: National Harmony in Artists’ Eyes” to be inaugurated tomorrow at JDA Parera Art Gallery, Department of Visual Arts, University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Prof Aryarathne Kaluarachchi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo. The exhibition has been organized by Department of Sculpture and Department of Visual Arts of the University.
The art works of Branka Ridichi (Croacia), Dr Milan Sharma, Mahendra Singh Baoni, Nidhi Aggarwal and Pankaj Manav (India), Jagath Ravindra, Dr Manoranjana Herath, Dr Priyantha Udagedara, Sanjaya Sanawirathana, Sarath Gunasiri Parera, Sujeewa Kumari Weerasinghe and Vajira Gunawardena (Sri Lanka) will be on display in the gallery upto May 21.
Dr Milan is a well known, artist of Jammu and working in the Faculty of Painting, Institute of Music & Fine Arts, University of Jammu. She has done Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts (BVA), MVA (Painting) from College of Art, New Delhi and has done PhD from there.
She has been the recipient of Cultural Scholarship by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. She has participated in group art exhibitions and art camps at many places in the country. Her paintings are marked in the expressionist style of expressions in bold brush strokes but with distinctive harmonious colour schemes.
