Don’t allow mobile phones to children in schools: SSP

Excelsior Correspondent
KISHTWAR, Apr 8: The discipline is the first criterion for a student to progress and excel in studies. In the absence of strict discipline to expect a good deal in studies and career from even an otherwise intelligent student is rare, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary.
While speaking in a function at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar, SSP Abrar Chowdhary informed the audience that parents are the first school and are the main stakeholders in the education and development of their children.
He said that it is ironical and surprising that even low income parents provide costly smart phones to their children for taking to schools and using at their places of stay.
“The students forget the studies and waste their precious time by fiddling with these phones for social media and other things which are useless rather harmful for them. The police during routine checking come across a number of students and youth having smart phones with filthy stuff”, said SSP.
He said that beside mobile phones the students are provided bikes by their parents which they use for stunts and all other nonsense stuff. He advised the parents not to resort to these acts.
SSP called upon the parents to follow and supervise each and every activity of their children so that they are enabled to reach out to the success levels and contribute in the development of society and the nation.
He advised the teaching fraternity to maintain the attendance of students in each period. In case any student bunks the class without reasons let his parents be informed of the same.
Among others present were Perlhad Bhagat Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary Kishtwar, Dr Sanjay Sen Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar, Vice Principal, lecturers, staff and students along with their parents.
