DM inaugurates program to prepare border youth for NDA/TES Exam

SAMBA, July 13: District Magistrate (DM), Samba, Sheetal Nanda, today inaugurated an Army designed preparatory programme for National Defence Academy/TES exam for the youth of the border areas at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ramgarh.
The initiative has been taken by 92 Brigade, Bari Brahmana in coordination with District Administration, Samba. Initially, 28 students shall be imparted training on good communication skills, personality development and general aptitude.
Commanding Officer, 14 Punjab, Col RK Singh has designed the special module for training the students to clear the SSB interviews. On the occasion, Brigade Commander, 92 Brigade, Deep Bhagat, SDM Vijaypur, Ravinder Sharma, Col RK Singh, Tehsildar Ramgarh, Raman Chalotra, Principal, Ramgarh GHSS, JS Manhas, senior officials from Army, civil administration and students were present.
Speaking on the occasion, District Magistrate motivated the students to join Indian Army at Officer Rank by clearing the prestigious NDA/TES exam rather than aiming at entry as ‘Jawan’. She asked the students to utilize the golden opportunity and take inspiration from the Army officers who shall interact with them during the training.
She said that Samba is famous for Army officers who have shown exemplary courage and bravery in defending the nation and the tradition should be continued. She urged the Army officials to consider imparting self defence training to the girls.
Brig Deep Bhagat also spoke on the occasion and assured that they will organize more such programmes across the district especially for girls in coordination with the District Administration.
