JAMMU, Apr 22: To review comprehensive sewerage scheme, Division-A of Greater Jammu, a meeting of senior officers of various departments was held today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commi-ssioner Jammu Shantmanu.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu besides senior officers from JMC, PHE, PDD, Traffic Police, NBCC, UEED, H&UDD and SUIDA.
During the meeting detailed discussion was held on further streamlining the functioning of executing agencies for timely and quality completion of sewerage works.
The Divisional Commi-ssioner was informed that the sewerage work on JDA Park to Fortune Hotel, Rajinder Bazar to Shahidi Chowk, Dogra Chowk to M.A. Stadium, Jai Hind Bakery to Raghunath Mandir, Pacca Danga to Parade and Kachi Chowni to Moti Bazar in old Jammu city was delayed due to some technical obstacles and vehicular movement in these areas.
Shantmanu stressed upon the executing agencies to work in close coordination so that timely and quality work is maintained by ensuring supervision of experienced technical staff. He directed PHE and Traffic authorities to cooperate with the executing agencies so that the work on the project would not get delayed.
The Divisional Commi-ssioner directed the concerned officers to conduct joint inspections of these sites to chalk out strategies to remove bottlenecks if any, hampering smooth execution of the project. He asked the executing agencies to complete the sewerage works well before ensuing Amarnathji Yatra and give priority to restoration work to minimize public inconvenience.
Later, Divisional Comm-issioner accompanied by senior officers also visited sewerage work spots for the onspot inspection.
