Deputation of border villages calls on district administration

SAMBA, Aug 18 : Deputation of around 100 to 150  people of village Mawa, Chachwal and village Chilyari Samba today called on district administration Samba for starting the bus service on border routes of Mawa, Chachwal and Chilyari.
People of the villages also informed the district administration Samba that few days back one matador turned turtle on this route due to over speeding and over loading  in which four lives were lost and many were injured. They said that mini buses are not safe and also the drivers of the mini buses maintain a monopoly who in the mad race of getting more and more passengers accelerate the speed with the result fatal accidents take place.
During the meeting the people of these villages appealed the district administration Samba to start the bus service from Jammu to Mawa, Chachwal and Chilyari village so that the local people and other concerned village population feels comfortable during the travel. They also said that the buses are much safer than mini buses.  People while pressing the demand stressed the district administration that the bus service be started soon . They also said that they will not allow mini buses to ply on these routes and put the lives of people to more risk.
ADC Samba along with ADL, SSP, DySP Traffic and ARTO were present in the meeting and they listened the problems of the deputation and give assurance to them that problem will be solved soon.
Meanwhile, ARTO Samba Kuldeep Singh along with DySP Traffic Madhu Bandral held meeting with the Minibus Union Samba. In the meeting ARTO said that MVD Department along with Traffic Department from tomorrow will start  checking of the mini buses at bus stand and if any mini bus has no complete documents, and the drivers were seen driving the mini buses without licences they will be punished and vehicles seized. ARTO also said that every minibus will not be allowed to stop on the stand for more than 10 minutes to avert overloading.
ARTO said that the department is trying to start the one or two buses on the border road to Jammu directly  so that the passengers can easily reach to their destinations.
