DDC cracks down on proxy admissions in Govt, private schools

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 14: Taking cognizance of the complaints regarding proxy in the admission of students of well of families in private institutions at district headquarter Kishtwar, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana constituted a committee for conducting verifications of  the duplicacy in the admission of students in Government and private schools.
Numerous complaints were lodged by the public from different corners of the district especially from backward areas that some students belonging to well off families are actually studying in private educational institutions at district headquarter Kishtwar but their permanent admission have been registered in the Government schools of far flung areas for matter of record and examinations.
Such kind of practice deprives the students who belong to poor families and are studying in Government schools in backward areas of their genuine rights at the time of competitions for higher admissions and government jobs.
The influential and well off students also reap the fruits of reservation at the cost of poor students under different categories by getting category certificates like OSC and RBA on the basis of admission records from schools falling in backward areas where the students are permanently admitted.
Keeping in view the seriousness of the issue the DDC has constituted a committee consisting of Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, Tehsildar concerned and Block Development Officer concerned who will check the records and identify such cases so that the duplicate registration are cancelled and the erring officials and owners of private schools are dealt under law.
“The committee so constituted will submit the progress report after every 15 days”, the order of DDC Kishtwar reads.
