JAMMU, May 23: In a contempt petition filed by Laxmi Cricket Club, Jammu through its president V K Sabharwal and others highlighting disobedience on the part of the respondents, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today issued notice to Chief Secretary, Director General Sports, J&K Sports Council and others with the directions to file statements of facts.
In the contempt petition it has been stated that the orders passed in WPPIL 20/2014 dated November 11, 2014 have intentionally been flouted by the respondents. It was submitted that Vishal Sadbhavana Sammelan, a get-together of some sort by self-styled spiritual saint Satpal Ji Maharaj was held on May 2 and 3 at MA Stadium in clear violation of the orders of the High Court.
After hearing Advocate Aprajita Jamwal appearing for the PIL, DB issued notice to Chief Secretary, Director General Sports, J&K Sports Council and others with the directions to file statement of facts.
