DPS organizes Literary Fest

JAMMU, May 23: A 3-day Literary Fest ‘Lingua Fontana -2015’ concluded successfully at DPS Jammu today.
All the students of classes IX to XII enjoyed all the activities which were designed to polish their literary, creative and oratory skills.
On the opening day of the Fest, students were engaged in writing limericks, a 5 line humorous poem following the rhyme scheme-“a a bb a.”
However, exuding creativity followed no norms and much longer poems emerged in distinct styles and rhyme schemes.
Day two saw the students and the teachers involved in cartoon making on plethora of interesting themes given to them, while the third day was devoted to essay writing and Inter-House debate competition.
The topic of the debate competition was “Degree is the passport to success”.
The convincing arguments and powerful expressions of the participants, especially in the rebuttal round, won them a great applause.  Two outstanding students namely, Mahaveer Singh and Rajashrshi brought laurels to Yamuna House by winning award for best speakers ‘For’ and ‘Against’ the motion respectively. The competition was judged by  Preeti and Sangeeta.
Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress DPS Jammu expressed her satisfaction and encouraged students and staff to continue with zeal and enthusiasm, such endeavours in future as well.
