CS discusses Darbar move arrangements

JAMMU, Apr 15: Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey today discussed the arrangements in connection with Annual Darbar move from Jammu to Srinagar.
The Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in Jammu on April 25 and will re-open in Srinagar on May 5, 2014 whileas advance parties will be moving to Srinagar on April 21st.
It was informed in the meeting that as many as 150 trucks and 50 buses will be deployed for ferrying official record and employees on April 26th, 27th and on May 3rd and 4th. Arrangements have also been made for providing escort to the employees and convoy carrying the official record from Jammu to Srinagar
Chief Secretary directed for putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of Darbar move vehicles including cranes, mobile workshop besides providing medical mobile teams and ambulances all along the National Highway during the move days.
It was also informed that during these four move days, Army and other Paramilitary convoys will regulate their movement to facilitate smooth movement of Darbar move vehicles.
Chief Secretary directed CA&PD to ensure that hassle free temporary gas connections are issued to move employees for their Srinagar stay besides he also directed RTO/Traffic Police to monitor fare charges by Sumo/Taxi operators during move days.
He directed the IT Department to ensure that LAN/Internet in Srinagar Secretariat is fully functional on the opening day.  He also directed the concerned departments for ensuring complete sanitation besides ensuring electricity and drinking water in all residential colonies of employees. He also called for making necessary arrangements for security at residential quarters/colonies of move employees.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Home Suresh Kumar, Administrative Secretaries and Heads of various departments and other officers of Civil and Police administration.
