POONCH, Mar 14: Cross LoC trade between India and Pakistan via Chakkan-da-Bagh trade point in Poonch has been suspended in view of the mounting tension along the Line of Control after ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.
The Pak Army has targeted Trade Centre complex during shelling on Sunday and Monday. A school building and another structure at Chakkan-da-Bagh have been affected with the shelling by Pakistan. On Monday, the weekly bus service between both the sides also remained suspended.
Official sources said that in view of the shelling on the Trade Facilitation Centre, in Poonch by Pak troops and mounting tension along the LOC, the gates on both the sides at the LoC point remained closed today and trade was suspended for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday via Chakkan-da-Bagh. It may be restored after the situation improves in near future, the sources said.
