Court grants 14 days judicial remand of accused

JAMMU, June 28: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu today granted fourteen days judicial remand of Yasir Alfaz S/o Kher Din R/o Shiv Doda who was arrested by the Janipur police in FIR No. 51/2016 u/s 295/295-A/353/506 RPC in Aap Shambu temple desecration case.
Today about 2.30 PM accused Yasir Alfaz was produced in the court in tight security and SHO Police Station Janipur Virender Gupta filed an application seeking remand of accused to the judicial custody for 15 days.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjay Gupta after hearing CPO Jawaid Ahmed Khawaja appearing for the police and after perusal of the CD File observed that the investigation in the case is in progress and severe accusation has been leveled against the accused person.
Court further observed that the prayer of police seems to be genuine and in accordance with law and ordered that accused is remanded to the Judicial custody for 14 days and is ordered to be sent to Central jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.
Court also directed that Superintendent Central Jail shall keep the accused in safe custody, so that no untoward incident may take place.
It is worthwhile to mention here that if police failed to complete the investigation today and produced the challan tomorrow, the accused shall be released.
According to the Section 497-B CrPC, the accused shall be released on bail if investigation is not completed within two weeks.
