Coriander, turmeric weaken on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 11:  Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on muted demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position.
Coriander and turmeric prices drifted lower by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 6,300-13,000 and Rs 7,400-10,700 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 690-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 760-780 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 810-1,070.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,380-1,480, cardamom (colour robin) 1,290-1,300, cardamom bold 1,340-1,350, cardamom extra (bold) 1,440-1,450 and cloves 570-700. (PTI)
