Coriander, jeera weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 24:  Coriander and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Coriander fell by Rs 100 to Rs 8,500-13,500 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 10,700-10.800 and Rs 13,100-13,600 per quintal.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today’s quotations per quintal:

Ajwain 12,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 645-775, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,330 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,400-1,500.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 630-690, cardamom (colour robin) 640-650, cardamom bold 660-680, cardamom extra (bold) 850-880 and cloves (kg) 900-1,000. (PTI)
