Copper futures rise on positive global cues

NEW DELHI, Nov 3: Copper prices rose 0.39 per cent to Rs 449.70 per kg in futures trade today as participants widened their speculative bets amid firm global cues.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November was trading Rs 1.75, or 0.39 per cent, higher at Rs 449.70 per kg in a business turnover of 1,079 lots.
Metal for delivery in February next year contracts edged higher by Rs 1.70, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 455.40 per kg in a business volume of 43 lots.
Analysts said that apart from pick-up in domestic demand, a firming overseas trend in base metals, mainly influenced copper futures here. (PTI)
