JAMMU, Sept 22: The State Government has accorded sanction for re-constitution of Content Monitoring Committees at the State and District levels to monitor violation of Programme and Advertisement Codes under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 by private satellite television channels, AIR Broadcasting Code by private FM channels and Community Radio Station.
The State level monitoring committee shall be headed by Administrative Secretary Information Department while the district level monitoring committees will be headed by the concerned District Magistrate.
The State level committee shall monitor progress of district level committees, which shall keep a watch on the content carried by the satellite channels, private FM channels and provide a platform where the public may lodge a complaint regarding the aired content Tenure of the committees shall be five years.
