JAMMU, Oct 12: Crime Branch Jammu today registered FIR against constable Manzoor Ahmed, who duped innocent Special Police Officer for converting him to follower/constable by his influence in lieu of money.
According to the SSP Crime Branch Mubassir Latifi, a complaint was forwarded by the IG Railway mentioning that a departmental enquiry was conducted by SP Railways, Kashmir and it was found that constable Manzoor Ahmed No. 747/GRPK, who was residing in a rented room at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu introduced himself to one Jewan Lal, son of Om Parkash of Dachan as driver to IGP, Jammu Zone and asked him to pay an amount of Rs 55,000 for the treatment of his mother and later on when Jewan Lal demanded his money back, Manzoor Ahmed asked Jewan Lal to pay him some more money in lieu of which he will be converted from SPO to follower/constable by his influence.
Manzoor Ahmed also provided an account number 3154 of J&K Bank branch Rajpora Pulwama existing in the name of one Reyaz Ahmed Wagay of Pulwama in which Jewan Lal deposited Rs 25,000 for getting himself regularized as Constable in J&K Police on being allured by Manzoor Ahmed. However, no such order was passed.
During investigation by the Crime Branch, it transpired that accused Manzoor Ahmed in connivance with Reyaz Ahmed Wagay and others allured and took an amount of Rs 80,000 from SPO Jewan Lal through deceitful means by impersonating himself as driver of IGP Jammu Zone.
Accordingly, a case under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC read with Section 5(2) PC Act has been registered against him and investigation entrusted to DySP Abdul Wahid Giri.
