Cong to play role of vibrant Oppn, to raise public issues in Assembly

JAMMU, Jan 1:  President Pradesh Congress Committee GA Mir today said that Congress would act as vibrant opposition in the Legislative Assembly and raise issues of public important forcefully during this Budget session  beginning tomorrow.
Talking to media-persons after CLP meet held here this afternoon, PCC chief said that Congress Party would play the role of vibrant opposition in both the houses of State Legislature and make the Government accountable on all the commitments made by the two coalition partners and the alliance Government.
Responding to a question Mir said, ” we want that this session should go smoothly but it is mainly the responsibility of Government. They are escaping from certain issue. Three ruling ministers are found involved in corruption and currency notes scam but the Chief Minister did not initiate any serious inquiry despite raising issue by the opposition. Clean chit was given to accused ministers for a so called just `face saving’  probe,” he added.
Mir said  Kashmir unrest, border tension, PoK and West Pakistan DPs/ refugees  issues will be raised forcefully besides the important issue of tainted BJP Ministers in the Legislature. The Govt should give reply on these issues, if it really wants smooth Budget session. He said that papers would be submitted to the State Governor N N Vohra on this important issue.
Earlier, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) met here today to discuss the strategy for the budget session of the State Legislature beginning here tomorrow.
The meeting was attended by almost all the legislators  and  was chaired by the president JKPCC,  GA Mir.
It was attended by CLP leader Nnwag Rigzin Jora, Dy Leader Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Chief Whip Vikar Rasool, GM Saroori, Haji Abdul Rashid, Usman Majid, Jahangir Mir (MLC), GN Monga (MLC), Ch Mumtaz, Gulzar Wani,  Ch Akram, Mohd Amin Bhat, Asgar Karbalai, Deldan Namgyal, former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, former DyCM Tara Chand, AICC  secretary  Imran Kidwai, PCC vice presidents Mula Ram  and Raman Bhalla,  chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and general secretaries Shabir Ahmed Khan & Vikram Malhotra.
The meeting discussed and deliberated upon all issues comforting the people of three region of the State  and devised the strategy to effectively raise all those issues and problems faced by the people and the failure of PDP-BJP Govt to deal with those issues and redress peoples grievances.
The meeting also decided to have joint meeting with other oppositions parties, to have coordination on issues of common concern in order to highlight the problems of people.
