JAMMU, Mar 9: A deputation of J&K unit of All Indian Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Orgnisations met the Chief Secretary B B Vyas and submitted the charter of demands here today.
The deputation led by president of the Confederation, R K Kalsotra submitted a memorandum to Vyas highlighting issues of the reserved categories. They demanded restoration of reservation in promotions, share in adhoc/ contractual/ daily wagers appointments, clearing back log vacancies, implementation of 27 % reservation in the State, dilution of ST status, provision of shelter homes, political reservation to STs, reservation in private sector and so on.
The Chief Secretary assured the deputation to take up the issues with the Chief Minister.
