CM Nagaland lauds Dr Jitendra’s innovative approach

NEW DELHI, Mar 6: Chief Minister of Nagaland T. R. Zeliang called on Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) & MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances,Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh at North Block here today and conveyed appreciation on behalf of his Government for Dr Jitendra Singh’s innovative approach and a number of new initiatives undertaken by him in the last three months since he took charge of the Ministry of Northeast.
Zeliang was particularly appreciative of Dr Jitendra Singh’s decision to hold DoNER Camp Secretariat in each of the eight States of Northeast by rotation every month. He said, the decision was indicative of Dr Jitendra Singh’s original ideas and creative thinking. Pertinent to mention that the process of monthly Camp Secretariat introduced by Dr Jitendra Singh began in January and since then, two such Camp Secretariats of DoNER Ministry have been held in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh respectively in January and February while in March a similar secretariat is scheduled to be held in the State of Assam.
Dr Jitendra Singh, in turn, appreciated the administrative commitment to the development of State shown by Zeliang during his tenure as Chief Minister and said, Nagaland is always high on the priority of Centre’s support because of its peculiar cultural and topographical constraints. He referred to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Nagaland and a number of new projects announced by him during that visit.
The Nagaland Chief Minister thanked Dr Jitendra Singh for his keen interest in supporting and pushing forward the State’s priority project for the upgradation of road from Sainik School Punglwa to Jalukie-28 km estimated to cost Rs.64.40 crore. He also referred to Nagaland’s other two priority projects regarding upgradation of road from Wokha Town to Longidang costing Rs.30 crore and the construction of road from Chuchuyimlang to Yali at the cost of Rs.38 crore.
Dr Jitendra Singh assured Zeliang that all the priority projects listed by the Nagaland Stete government will be taken up on priority and wherever there are constraints of budget, effort will be made to work out alternative sources of funding or to modify the projects accordingly.
