* Reviews schemes meant for tribal welfare

JAMMU, Mar 6: Reiterating the commitment of the Government to provide transparent and accountable governance to the people, the Minister for CA&PD, Zulfkar Ali, said that bold innovative measures will be taken to check all corrupt practices and process has already been set in motion.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Prem Nagar here today.
Minister of State for PHE and I&FC, Abdul Majid Padder and MLC, Surinder Chowdhary were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfkar maintained that the Government has formulated a comprehensive vision document to fulfil the aspirations of the people of all three regions of the State. He said coalition’s main motive is to ensure inclusive development, balanced growth and upliftment of all sections of the society.
Exhorting youth to shoulder responsibility in bringing change, the Minister said that our vision is to channelize the energy of the youth, and evolve such a system that will ensure justice and peace and provide an atmosphere free from instability and economic disparities.
Expressing concern over the menace of corruption, the Minister said that any such mall practices would be dealt strictly. He further said that zero tolerance would be adopted in this regard to ensure an effective deliverance of services to the people.
The local residents apprised the Minister about their problems and demands and sought his intervention in addressing these.
The Minister assured them that all their issues would be looked into for early redressal.
Meanwhile, Mr Zulfkar reviewed the implementation of various scheme for tribals, in the State.
Commissioner Secretary School Education, Secretary Social Welfare, Director School Education Jammu, Director, NRHM, Director Heath, Director Food and Supplies, Secretary Gujjar & Bhakerwal, Advisory Board, Joint Director Planning and officers of various departments were present in the review meeting.
The meeting deliberated on various issues like conversion of all Gujjar and Bhakerwal hostels into residential schools, establishment of health centres for nomads, opening of mobile schools for the Tribals besides encouraging education among tribals.
The Minister said that while implementing any scheme for the tribals, the aspirations of the tribals should be kept in view and given due consideration.
Minister asked the officers to be proactive toward the needs and grievances of the tribals besides ensuring enhanced and transparent deliverance of services. He laid emphasis on ensuring quality education to tribals and stoping school dropouts besides construction of mobile schools in far-flung areas.
Director School Education was asked to provide a prototype design for construction of co-education schools in different tribal areas.
Secretary Social Welfare has been asked to prepare a proposal for opening of mobile schools in far-flung and hilly areas for submission to Planning and Development Department.
Regarding establishment of health centres along various pasture routes, Mission Director NRHM was asked to submit a list of already sanctioned health centres to Director Tribal Affairs at the earliest.
