REASI, May 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi, Ravinder Kumar today visited Government High School Bhaga and initiated strict action against Maths teacher as students of class 10th could not solve questions of class 1st or 2nd level.
DC entered in classroom of 10th standard having 17 students on roll and asked very simple questions to them on addition, multiplication and division of class 1st or 2nd level, which could not be solved by the students.
Taking serious note of such casual approach in the school responsible for impairing the learning level of students in particular and degrading overall education system in general, DC immediately ordered withholding salary of Maths teacher who had been teaching the same subject for the last four years.
The DC said that pay of the said teacher would be released only if he brings improvement in the students and possibly reassessment of students of same class after one month shall also be conducted.
The DC also passed instructions to the teachers to make vigorous efforts while teaching the students and if required also go for remedial teaching and extra classes so that learners do not suffer for want of study.
