Chilli, turmeric weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 21:  Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on easing demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position.
Red chilli and turmeric prices drifted by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,100-16,400 and Rs 7,700-11,500 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 720-830, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 870-890 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 960-1,150.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,375-1,475, cardamom (colour robin) 1,350-1,375, cardamom bold 1,400-1,425, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,525 and cloves 510-625. (PTI)
