CGC’s campus placement registers growth of 60 pc: Navneet

JAMMU, July 10: Campus placements at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran registered a growth of 60% in the number of companies visiting the campus for recruitment of fresh talent. This was stated by Navneet Singh, Deputy Director, Corporate Resource Cell, CGC Landran.
While giving details on the campus placements 2016-2017, Navneet said that ‘more than 457 multinationals recruited 4964 students across the various streams, as a result there was a 30% hike in the number of students selected during campus placements this year as compared to previous year. The average package for engineering touched Rs 5 LPA while that of the MBA students touched Rs 4.5 LPA.’
‘The highest package bagged by engineering student touched a new high with the package of Rs. 26.97 LPA being offered by software company, Directi while the highest package in case of MBA stood at Rs. 14 LPA which was offered by Mindtree’ Navneet added.
More than 186 top notch companies recruited the 2016 batch of engineering students at CGC. The top recruiters included Microsoft, Google, IBM, Samsung, Sap Labs, Emerson, Mind Tree, ITC Infotech, HCL Technologies, Volvo Eicher, Wipro, Cognizant, Deloitte, Lava International, Micromax, JSW Steel, Godrej and ATS infrastructure etc.
With more than 100 multinationals which include Federal Bank, Canara Bank, Axis Bank, Grail Research, Earnst and Young, HDFC, ICICI, Naukri.com, Just Dial and Extra Marks recruiting MBA students, most students were offered multiple packages from the companies during campus placements.
In case of placements for Hotel Management students, renowned five star hotels such as The Oberoi Cecil, The Grand, JW Marriot, Park Plaza, Hotel Taj and Hyatt Regency offered lucrative packages in the hospitality industry.
