JAMMU, Aug 11: The three-months certificate course in Yoga at Central University Jammu was inaugurated today by the Vice-Chancellor CUJ, Professor Ashok Aima.
40 students belonging to different cross-sections of the society have taken admission in the said course, which has been introduced in Central University of Jammu for the first time after its approval by the Academic Council, Executive Council and the Court of the University. The Course contains three papers i.e. two theory papers of 50 marks each and the Practical of 100 marks.
The Vice-Chancellor, in his address on the occasion, lauded the role of the Yoga Centre for formulating the Course and implementing the same from the current session. He informed that the Central University has submitted a proposal to UGC and HRD for providing adequate grant for construction of building as well as running various courses of Yoga.
Among those, who attended the inaugural ceremony, included Dr D L Choudhary (Director Yoga Centre), Prof S K Khosa, Prof N K Tripathi, Prof S K Sharma and others.
At the end, Prof. Lokesh K Verma, Academic Coordinator, presented the vote of thanks.
