JAMMU, Apr 15: A delegation of the office bearers of SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu today met BJP national president Rajnath Singh and submitted a memorandum demanding upgradation of SKUAST Jammu to Central Agricultural University besides renaming the same as Baba Agar Jitto Agricultural University.
The SKUAST Teaching Association delegation, led by president Vikas Sharma, submitted the memorandum to Rajnath Singh in presence of Dr Jitender Singh, Jugal Kishore, MLA Ashok Khajuria, Ex Mayor Jammu Kavinder Gupta and other BJP leaders at Subash Stadium Udhampur.
Dr Vikas Sharma apprised Rajanth Singh that there was no Central Agricultural University in the whole Northern India and Jammu division was the most suitable place in the country for the establishment of the same as this region contains all the three agro climatic zones namely – subtropical, intermediate and temperate.
