LEH, Jan 10: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgial along with Phunchok Stanzin, Executive Councillor (Agriculture) called upon Ram Madhav, National General Secretary (In charge J&K State) of BJP at his office in New Delhi and highlighted various achievements of the party in Leh.
The CEC also requested Ram Madhav for fulfillment of pending genuine demands like Union Territory Status to Ladakh, Divisional Status for Ladakh, Inclusion of Bhoti Language in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution, opening of the Kailash Mansarovar Road from Ladakh and many more.
Namgial highlighted the recent achievement of Ladakh under the supreme leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik like sanctioning of Cluster University for Ladakh, Degree College at Khalsi, upgradation of High Schools, Trauma Centre in Leh, opening of Dialysis Unit in SNM Hospital Leh, opening of New Trekking Routes and specific mention of Ladakh in some sectors of State Budget including upgradation of SNM Hospital from 150 beds to 300 beds and sanctioning of sufficient funds in transport sector.
The list of some of the major achievements during the BJP regime for Ladakh was submitted to Ram Madhav by the CEC which include appointment of a Ladakhi Member in the J&K Public Service Commission for the first time, conduct of J&K Public Service Commission and J&K Service Selection Board exams in Leh for the first time, creation of a post of Joint Director (Education) Ladakh, sanctioning of an Indian Reserve Police (IRP) Battalion for Leh District, etc.
The Chairman also highlighted major roads and bridges projects sanctioned under Central Road Funds (CRF) sanctioned during BJP tenure which include major ten (10) roads amounting to about Rs 122 Crore including Rs 19.77 Crore road from Chogalmsar to Spituk, Agling to Skalzangling, Rs 9.50 crore from Khakted to Chushul Road, Rs 8.39 Crore Link Road to Achina Lungba, Rs 12.94 crore Link Road to Urbis, Rs 19.89 Crore Choglamsar Bridge, etc.
Lastly, CEC also mentioned about the announcement made by PM Narendra Modi regarding opening of a Medical College at Leh, establishment of a Digital Museum at Leh and construction of a Cultural Center at Leh, during his recent visit to Leh.
