Ceasefire violations by Pak widely condemned

JAMMU, June 4: Various organizations have strongly condemned violation of ceasefire by Pakistan and unprovoked shelling by it on civilian areas of International Border (IB) yesterday resulting into the martyrdom of two BSF jawans and injuries to many civilians.
Former MP and senior Congress leader, Madan Lal Sharma has urged the Central Government and BSF to give befitting reply to Pakistan for its cowardly act of ceasefire violation and shelling in Akhnoor Sector targeting 31 villages of Akhnoor, Pargwal and Kanachak.
While criticizing the policies of Central Government on ceasefire and dealing with Pakistan which often resorts to ceasefire violations, Sharma appealed the Union Government to provide suitable relief and make proper arrangements for rehabilitation of border people.
District Congress Committee (DCC), Jammu in its meeting at Party Headquarters held under the leadership of B B Gupta, senior vice president Jammu Urban in which the participants strongly criticized the unprovoked shelling by Pakistan on IB targeting the civilian population.
The meeting demanded that immediate relief be provided to border people and steps be also taken for their immediate rehabilitation besides release of Rs five lakh as compensation to the next kin of the deceased person in shelling.
Dogra Front and Shiv Sena led by Ashok Gupta took out the massive anti Pak rally against the ceasefire violations here today.
Gupta said 27,000 people have left their villages in border belt and no facility is provided to them. He also criticized the Government for holding the dialogue with separatists and criticized Pakistan for backtracking from its word which has agreed to act on 2003 ceasefire during the recent meeting of Indo-Pak DGMOs.
BJP, while condemning the ceasefire violation by Pakistan said that it has proved that Pakistan can’t be banked or trusted upon. BJP State chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi said that very existence of Pakistan is based upon lies and deceit and expecting any meaningful or sensible act from it is not realistic. India always believed in peaceful co-existence with its neighbours but Pakistan believed in creating terror and chaos all around, he added.
The State NCP has also strongly condemned the ceasefire violations by Pakistan. The party which held the meeting of its Working Committee here, today under the chairmanship of former Minister Th. Randhir Singh who is also the State party chief said the ceasefire violations by Pakistan after the DGMO level talks were held some days back in which it was agreed to implement the 2003 ceasefire pact has shown that neighboring country’s words don’t match its deeds.
Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) national vice president, Pt Rajesh Kesri while strongly condemning the ceasefire violation by Pakistan said it is meaningless to talk to Pakistan till it stops aiding and abetting terrorism.
He, while condemning the border shelling by Pakistan asked the Union Government to teach the enemy a lesson once for all as how long the border people will continue to face the death and live in uncertainty.
Jammu West Assembly Movement president, Sunil Dimple while condemning the ceasefire violation by Pakistan demanded that J&K be handed over to army to flush out terrorists from the State.  Convention
He said targeting the civilian areas is against the international war conventions which Pakistan has been repeatedly violating. He demanded that Pakistan be declared a rouge country and India should press this demand in international foras forcefully.
He also demanded that plots of land be allotted to border people at safer places.
