CB registers case in fake PRC case

JAMMU, Oct 24: Crime Branch Jammu has registered a case in fake PRC case.
According to an official spokesman, a communication bearing No. RRCM/PRC/16-17/6-7 dated 06-09-2016 together with the original PRC of Manpreet Singh, made by the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu was received in the Crime Branch.
In the communication it was stated that the original PRC issued in favour of Manpreet Singh, son of Popinder Singh of Baramulla, presently putting up at Raipur, Satwari was fake as the signature of Rajesh Sharma, then Assistant Commissioner (Relief) was forged as this officer was not posted in the organization in the month of January 2016.
“It transpires that the PRC in favour of Manpreet Singh was prepared by the accused in connivance with some other persons under the forged signatures of then Assistant Commissioner (Relief) in order to seek cash assistance and other relief from the Government”, the spokesman said, adding “the omissions and commissions, therefore, on the part of Manpreet Singh and others, prima facie, constitute offences punishable under Sections 420, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC”.
