JAMMU, Sept 24: On the second consecutive day today Agriculture Department Casual Labour Union (ADCLU) organized a protest dharna at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu against the delaying tactics of Government in framing the policy for regularization of Casual Labour.
Hundreds of casual labours from SM Farm Chinore, Agricultural Workshop, Seed processing plant and other sections participated in the protest dharna.
President, Casual Labour Union, Rajan Sharma, while addressing the protesting casual labours expressed great resentment over the delaying tactics of State Government to frame the policy for regularization of Casual Labour.
Rajan, said that complete record of 251 Casual Labours  is lying in the Administration Department for regularization but till date nothing has been done. He asserted that the Casual Labour of the Agriculture Department deserves regularization as they are continuously drawing the wages on Muster sheets through Government Treasuries with effect from 1994.
“Moreover the demand of casual labour for regularization is already in the Agreement which was held on September 15, 2011 between JCC and State Government”, he added.
The other Leaders of the Association who participated in the protest included Amrik Singh, Naresh Sharma, Rajinder Kumar, JP Verma, Zuffar-ul-Khan, Ravi Kumar, Tilak Raj, Ganesh Sharma, Avtar Chand and Sanju Sharma.
Meanwhile, All J&K Agriculture Employees Association has expressed its full support to the Casual Labour Union of Agriculture Department and appealed the Government to immediately frame the policy for regularization of Casual Labour.
