Cash relief provided to Gadigarh firing victims

JAMMU, Sept 27: In a religious function held at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram here today, cash assistance was distributed among the victims of police firing at Gadigarh few months ago.
The function in this connection was held at Digiana Ashram under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. The representatives of various Sikh organizations and the DGPC Jammu were also present on the occasion.
The cash relief among six injured and family of a deceased person, Jasjeet Singh of Choala village in R S Pura, was distributed by Mahant Manjit Singh ji. This amount has been donated by a USA based Sikh organization “ Sikh for Justice’’ worth 20000 dollars. Special prayer was also offered for peace to the soul of Jasjeet Singh who was killed in police firing.
While speaking on the occasion several Sikh leaders demanded suspension of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand and demanded judicial inquiry into the incident. They strongly opposed the re-posting of Uttam Chand as SSP Jammu. They also flayed the role of some Sikh leaders who came for mediation with Administration during protest and agitation of the community members at Gadigarh after the killing of Jasjeet Singh.
