BJP raking up old issues to hide its failure: Mayawati

LUCKNOW, Mar 16: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Saturday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were trying to rake up old issues to divert the people’s attention from their Government’s failures.
The 63-year-old Dalit leader tweeted, “PM Modi has failed to to address issues like poverty and unemployment. The government was diverting people’s attention to hide its failures. They (BJP and PM) run away from public debates.”
In another tweet, the BSP supremo said that the money, which was being spent on publicity by Mr Modi, could have been used for opening schools and hospitals in the state.
The former UP chief minister further alleged, “PM Modi was mostly busy in laying foundation stones for projects and spent Rs 3,044 crore on publicity. The Government could have used this money for education and better medical facilities in every village of backward state like Uttar Pradesh.” (UNI)
