Bhim Singh pays tributes to student martyrs of 1966

JAMMU, Oct 17: Prof Bhim Singh, chief patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) laid wreaths on the memorial of student martyrs who were shot dead by the police in the play ground of GGM Science College, Jammu on October 17, 1966 and on October 18 at City Chowk here.
Three students Brijmohan Sharma, Subash Chander, Gulshan Honda were martyred in College premises and one student namely Gurcharan Singh was killed at point blank at City Chowk by the then SSP Jammu. The Student movement was led by then chief organizer of J&K Student Congress, Bhim Singh, PK Ganju (then general secretary SPM Rajput College of Commerce) and others.
Thakur Virender Singh, State president, NPSU asked youth and students to unite and fight against injustice and discrimination meted out to Jammu masses more so un-employed youth who are denied their due share in the Government employment and development programmes.
On the occasion, JKNPP senior leaders, PK Ganju, senior State vice president, Anita Thakur, general secretary, Jagdev Singh, Shanker Singh Chib, State secretaries, Naresh Chib, Ravinder Jamwal, Neeraj Gupta, Asha Rani, Nirmal Kishore, Shakti Singh, Mithu Rajput and others remembered the martyrs whose martyrdom resulted in fulfillment of all demands for which they were killed by the police.
While addressing the youth participants, Prof Bhim Singh asked them to continue peaceful battle for the genuine demands of new generation to ensure delivery of justice at all levels.
