Assessment test to evaluate learning level of students conducted

SAMBA, Jan 23: District Administration conducted an assessment test for learning level evaluation of the students who had undergone remedial classes under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
In 2016-17, District Samba had completed the target of imparting remedial coaching to around 400 students who were found weak in academic performance. The students who were low achievers in academics in class VIII exams and are presently studying in class IX were provided remedial coaching of two hours per subject in mathematics and science during the school vacations.
The whole exercise of imparting remedial coaching and conducting assessment tests was moderated by the district administration under the close supervision of the District Development Commis-sioner, Sheetal Nanda.
The question paper was got set by the DDC from specialized institution dealing with conducting Learner Assessment Tests, and the tests were administered under the strict monitoring and supervision of the district administration.
The purpose of today’s test was to obtain feedback regarding response of students to the remedial coaching and make an evaluation to facilitate follow up or change in teaching strategies.
DDC Sheetal Nanda informed that evaluation is being done to understand strength and weaknesses of the students. She added that efforts are being made to establish close liaison with parents of low performing students and also teachers imparting the training.
